Three Worcs megafinalists through to Loughborough

Twenty Worcestershire Megafinal winners played at Manchester in the 2014 Northern Gigafinal.

Worcestershire's best placed male players just missed out on ultimo titles but still won places in the Loughborough Terafinal and Plate tournaments in August.

In the boys' tournaments, Joseph Friar ended with the highest score 4½ points. Ben Fuller (under-16 Nunnery Wood HS, Worcester/Worc Jun Chess Acad), Joseph Friar (Under-15 Hagley RC HS and Worc Jun Chess Acad), Rowan Aggarwal (Under-13 K Edw VI Camp Hill, Birmingham), and Rohit Jose (Under-9, Birmingham Checkmates) all booked their places in the Plate competition.

Best placed Worcestershire female player was: Tamara Marsden (Under-9 King's Hawford Sch, Worcester) scored 4½ points and was third in her tournament of players from all over Britain.
