Michele Clack and Terry Pountney fought to a bishop and pawn ending. Nigel Tower's win for redditch on board 1 used techniques learned at the recent endgame workshop led by Jon Speelman. On board 3, David Smith was a piece up in a tricky position and had to defend a strong attack before landing the point to decide the match.
