2011 Annual Meeting

A successful year

The 176th annual meeting was held on 26 May. The major points from the annual meeting were success-over-the board, increasing membership, and greater chess activity. For the first time in 22 years, Worcester City are County League Champions. Three members are active in the county and nationally: Andrew Farthing is Chief Executive Officer of The English Chess Federation, Ray Collett has been appointed captain of the Worcestershire Open Team, and Jim Keene continues as captain of the Worcestershire Correspondence Chess Team. The club's finances have improved, but greater income is still required.
