An introduction

The Worcestershire League is organised by and is an integral part of Worcestershire Chess Association. The league has two divisions. Division I has 6-board teams and Division II has 5-board teams. The League also runs a team handicap knock out competition, the Wheatley Cup for 5-board teams. 17 May. Worcester City beat Malvern on handicap in the Wheatley cup to meet Redditch in the final.

15 May. Halesowen do the double also winning the Division II championship.

3 April. Halesowen I crushed Worcester City to take the league championship with two matches to spare.

23 Dec. At the end of the first half of the season in Division I, it looks a two-horse race with Halesowen I ahead of Worcester City. In Division II, Headless Cross lead from Greenlands, but the latter have a match in hand.

4 Dec. The draw for the Wheatly Cup is published. A new team Shirley & Wythall has entered this year. Use the menu button on the left to see more.

2010-11 season trophy presentations

Worcester City were League Champions for the first time for 23 years. In Division Two, winners were Redditch who romped home with plenty to spare. Hagley won the Wheatley Memorial Cup.
