Worcester enter two teams in the Worcester & District League
2 July 2025. The annual meeting of the county chess association agreed to make Rapidplay 1 teams open and Rapidplay 2 League would be restricted to players rated up to 1650. In the championship Leagues home teams can choose to play home matches using time controls of 45+30, Worcester’s choice, or 60+30.
5 June 2025. The 189th annual meeting of the club decided to enter a further team into the Worcester & District League. Alex Nicholls will be the captain of the new team Worcester Black Bishops. Aiden's team in the same league will adopt the name Worcester White Bishops.
City team
16 Oct 2025. At home, City fared no better against Redditch. This time it was Ed Higgs and Dorin Luca who drew.
17 Sep 2025. City lost their first fixture away against Redditch with only Phil Austin and captain Rob Sutton able to get draws.
1 Sep 2025. This season, Halesowen have withdrawn from the Championship League and Longbridge enter two teams.
5 June 2025. Rob Sutton will captain the City team in the Championship League.

Pawns Rapidplay League 2 for u1650 players 2025-6
9 Oct 2025. The pawns again proved their superiority with two wins against Redditch. New member George Sharpe, returner John Hesketh and stalwart Tony Shaw won both their games.
16 Sep 2025. In the first Pawns fixture, there was a topsy turvy evening only Sai maintained consistency. Congratulations to Paul as non-playing captain for getting the first league match win for the club this season.
5 June 2025. Paul Serafini was elected team captain for the Rapidplay 2 League where the maximum rating of any player must not exceed 1650.

Jul 2025. Dan Lambourne organised a two round jamboree for Worcestershire Chess Association for the Towers Cup at Meadow Farm, Dagnall End Redditch. Six teams entered: Kidderminster, Longbridge A, Longbridge B, Malvern, Redditch, and Worcester. Round 2 is to be played on 27 Aug at the same venue.
