Minor team captain's report
2012-3 season

The county team finished above the bottom, but were not in contention after the early season drubbing from Lincolnshire.  At the end of the season, Derbys conceded their match at Worcester, which was a shame because the county had a higher graded team than for earlier matches.  The season saw a welcome return to the county side from Nic Arkell, while Steve Woodhouse, Tony Shaw  and John Chester appeared in the county first team for the first time. The best scoring player was Pavel Besedin (Worcester/South Birmingham) with 2½ from 3 games. Pavel was also one  of seven  players to turn out for all three matches. The others were Kevin Hurney (South Birmingham), Peter Kitson (Worcester City/Greenlands) Brian Turner (Malvern), Ed Osbourn (Worcester/Reading), Dave Scriven  (Stourbridge),  Tony Shaw (Malvern) and Ray Collett (Worcester).
