Introducing the Team

Worcester City were bottom of the table in Division I of the County League. Stephen Mellor is interim captain until a new member is found to skipper the team. The team competes against five other teams: Halesowen IA, Halesowen 1B, Malvern, and Kidderminster I and Olton. Matches are over 6 boards. Time control is 42 moves in 1½ hours followed by an additional playing session or adjudication. Detailed league results are available for the recent seasons starting with the 2016-7 page.

12 Jan. City with several senior players absent, lost heavily to Malvern in the away fixture
7 Dec. City lost at home to Malvern in a tight match.
28 Nov. City beat Halesowen 1B in an away fixture with new members Alistair Macnaughton winning his game. Ray Collett, standing in for Steve mellor also won his game.
18 Oct. City beat Kidderminster A in an away fixture.
12 Oct. City lose heavily to Halesowen 1A who fielded a strong team playing GM Keith Arkell on board 1.
