Introducing the Team
Ray Collett is the captain and the Bishops team are current Worcester & District League Champions, playing in Division 1. The team competes against five other teams playing home and away: Hagley, Kidderminster Pawns, Kidderminster Rooks, Malvern, and Redditch A. The new team is Redditch replacing Headless Cross. Matches are over 4 boards. Time control is 35 moves in 1¼ hours followed by an additional 15 min to complete the game. 2013-4 news
Kidderminster Knights pipped us in their last match of the season scorring 12 match points to our 11. The new Redditch A team scored 8 points in third position and would have been likely winners if they had been able to turn out their strongest team for all matches.
26 Mar. Kidderminster Knights claim the League title from the Bishops by beating their club's second and weaker division 1 team 4 - 0.
20 Feb. Title hopes are washed away by an outgraded Kidderminster Pawns team who secure their first draw.
12 Feb. Superb play by Kidderminster Knight dents our hopes of retaining the league title.
28 Jan. Another draw against a full-strength Redditch team
16 Jan. A excellent win for the team with a quick finish on board 1.
12 Dec. Technically a home match for the Kidderminster team, it was in fact played at Worcester because the knights had been run out of town by OAPs for a Christmas party.
28 Nov. A useful win against Kidder Knights.
14 Nov. A draw against a strong new Redditch team.
25 Oct. A splendid win by President David Roberts secures the crucial away match against Malvern
