The final was played at Worcester on 18 May between Ray Collett (Worcester) playing white and Matthew Jordan (Malvern). Collett went very wrong early in the opening, a Hyper-accelerated Sicilian Dragon and dropped a piece. Collett missed a chance to establish a little play for his material and Jordan wrapped up efficiently within 27 moves.
